Deep Tissue – $100/60 minutes

Deep-tissue/deep-muscle massage targets the sub-layer of musculature and fascia. It helps with chronic muscular pain and injury rehabilitation and reduces inflammation-related pain caused by arthritis and tendinitis and is integrated with other massage techniques.

Swedish – $90/60 minutes

One of the most well-known massage techniques, Swedish massage is a vigorous system of treatment designed to energize the body by stimulating circulation. Five basic strokes, all flowing toward the heart, are used to manipulate the soft tissues of the body using a combination of kneading, rolling, vibrational, percussive, and tapping movements, with the application of oil, to reduce friction on the skin. The many benefits of Swedish massage may include generalized relaxation, dissolution of scar tissue adhesions, and improved circulation, which may speed healing and reduce swelling from injury.

Thai – $100/60 minutes

Thai massage has been taught and practiced in Thailand for approximately twenty-five hundred years. Thai massage is practiced on a firm mat on the floor instead of on a table, instrumental in the effective use of the practitioner’s body weight. Except for the feet, the client remains fully clothed, so draping is not necessary. Please wear comfortable loose-fitting clothing.

Thai Herbal – $160/90 minutes, $180/120 minutes

For centuries, Thai herbal compress balls have been adapted for use in concert with traditional Thai massage and therapeutic treatments. Hot herbal compresses are well-known for treating chronic muscle, back, and joint pain. We apply a compress of steaming herbal balls infused with herbal oils to your skin to help you relax, relieve pain, and release stress. Spicy citrus-menthol scent is a combination of certified organic and all-natural oils that are rich in essential fatty acids. This formulation, rich in vitamins and nutrients, conditions the skin as you are massaged with Thai herbal ball compresses.

Hot Stones – $90/60 minutes

Hot stones are used to elicit physical healing, mental relaxation, and a spiritual connection to earth energy. Warm stones encourage the exchange of blood and lymph and provide soothing heat for deep-tissue work. Stones are placed in varying positions on the body for energy balancing or may be used by the therapist for specific trigger-point work.

Lomi-Lomi – $90/60 minutes

Lomi-Lomi – Hawaiian for rub-rub – is a massage technique that utilizes very large, broad movements. Two-handed, forearm, and elbow application of strokes, which cover a broad area, is characteristic of Lomi-Lomi. Similar to Swedish massage in many aspects, this system uses prayer and the acknowledgment of the existence of a higher power as an integral part of the technique. Oils are used in the application of cross-fiber friction techniques. The practitioner often uses the forearm and elbow in the application of pressure.

Aromatherapy – $100/60 minutes

Enhance your spa experience by adding aromatherapy. The use of essential oils (extracted from herbs, flowers, resin, woods, and roots) in body and skin care treatments is known as aromatherapy. Used as a healing technique for thousands of years by the Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans, essential oils are said to have many healing benefits and properties. Each of the essential oils has it’s own unique characteristics and benefits. The essential oils we regularly stock at East Wing Spa are for relaxation, dry skin, dull skin, oily skin, sensitive skin, cellulite, joint health, respiration, circulation, and digestion. For only $10 more, your therapist can add essential oils to the oils used for your massage. You can choose any of the essential oils for your massage. Aromatherapy diffusers are used to fill the room with the scent of the oils. Specific essential oils are blended with a carrier-oil, to be used during the massage. The benefits cited here are for information only and should not be considered as an alternative to or substitute for regular medical care by your doctor.
